Hello Monday {Family Values}

Hello Monday. Let's take it easy and relax today...okay? Good, I'm glad you agree.

Hello warm weather. I think we can finally pack away our boots and sweaters thankyouverymuch.

Hello vacation. It was wonderful to get away on a sister road trip {more on that later}. Have we been back for a week already?

Hello God of the {seemingly} impossible. All I've got to say is, "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4 {and no, it does not involve a guy ;)}

Hello encouraging/convicting preaching yesterday morning.

'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.' - Matthew 22:37

How is our walk with the Lord? Are we serving Him half-heartedly? It can be so easy to get into the habit of going to church, reading our Bible, teaching Sunday School, etc. I know I can easily fall into the mindset of doing those things because it's the right thing to do, but I want to give my best to the Lord and do those things out of love rather than habit. He didn't go halfway to the cross for us or only forgive half of our sins. Let's stop serving Him half-heartedly and give our best to the Master!

Hello Family Values {a time on the last Sunday evening of the month where anyone can sing, play an instrument, quote Scripture, etc}. It's always a blessing to sing for the Lord, but even more so when the words mean so much to you and you try to focus on doing it with your whole heart.

Hello this song. The words say it all..."I don't need to know the outcome of His plan. I will trust His ways, though I can't see His hand." Thank you, Lord, that YOU are in control!

A Few of My Favorite Things

This was supposed to be a Friday Favorites post, but time got away from me so here it is on Monday night. :)

::Ladies SPARK meeting - such a great time getting to know the ladies at church better and being encouraged/challenged by God's Word::

::Josh and Liz are engaged! Preparations for an August 3rd wedding are in full swing::

::SUNSHINE! Spring has finally arrived...it was BEAUTIFUL today! Thank you, Lord! It was wonderful to be able to spend a good part of the day out on the deck for some much needed sunshine and fresh air::

::I've heard this song a couple of times now, and it blesses my heart. No matter what I'm going through in life, it's for my good and His glory!::

He lives!

We sang this in church tonight and I wanted to share it because it's such a great song! Praise God that Jesus didn't just die on the cross and stay in the grave, but He rose from the dead! I serve a risen Saviour!!!

One day when heaven was filled with His praises,
  One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin—
  Dwelt among men, my example is He!

Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
  Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever:
    One day He's coming—O glorious day!

One day they led Him up Calvary's mountain,
One day they nailed Him to die on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected;
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He.

One day they left Him alone in the garden,
  One day He rested, from suffering free;
Angels came down o'er His tomb to keep vigil;
  Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He.

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
  One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then He arose, over death He had conquered;
  Now is ascended, my Lord evermore.

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
  One day the skies with His glory will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved ones bringing;
  Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!

Bountiful

Yesterday I was reading Psalm 13 and the first and last verses really stuck out to me and I just thought I would share.

Verse 1 - How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
If we're completely honest with ourselves, we definitely go through times in our life where it feels like the Lord has forgotten us. Sometimes the trials and tribulations in life seem unbearable and that there's nothing to be thankful for at the present time in our life.

Verse 6 - I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
No matter what the situation, no matter how we feel...the Lord has dealt bountifully with us. There are SO many things to be thankful for. Things that the Lord has blessed us with that we take for granted and don't even think to be thankful for them. Yes, we may be going through a 'rough patch' in life (so it seems) but the Lord is good and 'hath dealt bountifully with me.' Let's take our eyes off of our problems and focus on the many blessings the Lord has given us! How about even being thankful for that trial in your life?? Start praising Him for everything you can think of and you'll soon realize just how good things really are!

I heard this song tonight and thought it fit perfectly!

Redeemed

We sang this song on Sunday and I just love it! In our hymnal we have two different arrangements for it and I prefer the one by A.L. Butler...it's just so pretty. Maggie, Brother Majors and I sang it a year ago and I'm not sure that I ever posted it. So here it is along with the lyrics.

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.

Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
His child, and forever, I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.

I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long;
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.
