Stuff

I feel like I have so much 'stuff' to do. Almost to the point where it's overwhelming. But I know...just take it one day at a time...one thing at a time.

Things are slowing down at work now that I've got the taxes done, Praise the Lord!!

We're wanting to get our house up for sale as soon as possible, which means we need to get some things done around here. I'm slowly but surely working on my room. I need to do some purging. I've been giving things back to people that I borrowed and never returned...oops! :) I had a years worth of Martha Stewart Living magazines that I went through and tore out all the pages that I wanted and am now working on putting them into a binder.

So much to do, but I know the end result will be very rewarding.

God's Promises

This is what greeted me after work.  I don't think I've seen a rainbow that vibrant in a long time.  It's beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice.

"I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh." (Genesis 9:13-15)

Cookware

Some of you may remember this post where I purchased some dishes that cost me nearly nothing!  Well I've done it again.  Thanks to my Secret Prayer Sister I got a gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond and I just purchased these online.  I only ended up paying $3.23!!

I'm loving the white dishes.  I've started getting odd and end dishes/serving pieces, so when I *Lord willing* set up a home of my own, I'll have some really cool dishes.  The great thing about them is they will all go together no matter where you get them from, cuz they're all white.

Christmas Present

Here's what Carolyn got me for Christmas.  It's really neat!  There are many yummy sounding things in it.  Tonight I made some Lemon Squares.  They're not your typical lemon bars, but they're still good.  There's another recipe for Lemon Bars in there, so I'm looking forward to see how those turn out.

Thanks Carolyn!

On a side note, I also tried making a Tomato Bisque tonight for dinner.  I took this recipe and pureed it to turn it into a bisque, but was less than thrilled with the results.  Does anyone have a recipe for it that they really enjoy?

Lemon Squares

These are not your typical lemon bars, yet they are still tasty. :)

1 lemon cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, mix together cake mix, eggs, and oil.  Mixture will be stiff. Spread the mixture evenly into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake 13-15 minutes until  slightly golden on top.

Cool, then sprinkle powdered sugar over the squares.

Excited!

The SPG's have been planning on going to the Leadership Training Institute of America in Washington D.C. this summer.  I've been unsure if I'll be able to go for various reasons, but tonight I commited to going. Yay!!  I'm so excited!  We leave June 19th and get back on the 26th.  It will be an intense week of training, but I know it will be very worth while.  Not only will we receive training on forming a Biblical World View and how to be leaders in society, but we'll also have the opportunity to see many different monuments and museums.  I can't wait!  It'll be so awesome!

Just For Laughs

This commercial was on TV quite some time ago, and for whatever reason I thought of it the other night.  It cracks me up every time!

Welcome 2010!

Wow!  Is 2009 over already?!  It sure seemed like it flew by!  The older I get, the faster time seems to go by.

New Years Eve found us at church for our Annual Watchnight Service.  This year we did things a little differently by having 'Talent Time.'  It was a great blessing to see the talents the Lord has given the members within the church.  As far as what I was involved in:

Alyssa & I sang "Lord, Here Am I"

The SPG's did our own rendition of the Silent Hallelujah Chorus

We all headed home around 10 to bring in the New Year at home, and for the 3rd year in a row our house found itself full of guests!  The evening was filled with lots of laughter as we awaited 2010.  Maybe they'll come to the MV next year. ;-)

On New Years Day, a few of us girls went shopping.  Everyone found some great deals.  Here's what I found!
These were buy one get one free @ Kohls.  They cost me $0 because I had a gift card!

I found this at the Goodwill.  Things with a green sticker were 1/2 off, so it cost me $3.50 + tax!

Today has just been spent at home, which was much needed.  I've been reading most of the day, trying to finish up the last book in the Annie's People series by Beverly Lewis.  I just might even watch Persuasion later. :-)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY BLOG READERS!
