Amy's Wedding

In September I went to Missouri for Amy's wedding. We've known each other for a LONG time...probably since we were at least 4.  It was a great time to catch up and hang out, but most importantly...get that girl to the altar! :-)

My Bedroom

In this post, I mentioned putting my room back together after getting our carpet replaced and showing you pictures of it.  My room was finished not too long after said post, but I guess I was just lazy and never posted pictures. Now that I've been decluttering and packing, it seemed like the perfect time to take some pictures!  :o)

My dresser was white and took on the task of stripping it and painting it black.  Boy, was it a task!  Thankfully, my dad came to the rescue and helped me get it finished!  It's so nice with it's black paint and new silver hardware! I also bought a few new pieces of furniture which include the bookshelf (that I put together all by myself!! haha)  and a nightstand/file cabinet.

You probably don't care, but I'll say it anyways. My comforter used to match the colors in the pictures...but unfortunately some of the seams on that comforter started ripping so I was "obligated" to buy a new one. :-)  I got this one at Macy's during my Black Friday shopping trip...it just so happens to be called Kali!

Sweetheart Banquet 2009

As promised, here's the first of several posts FINALLY giving you some pictures you never got to see.

As is becoming tradition, the SPG's (Singles Pleasing God) put on the Sweetheart Banquet for the married couples in the church in 2009.  You would think that doing something like that would be somewhat of a downer and a very obvious reminder of our single status, but it's actually very fun!  We enjoy ourselves very much, and trust the couples enjoy the evening we plan for them.

The theme for 2009 in our church was Continue the Commitment and we were able to incorporate that theme into the Banquet.  We decided to go with a wedding theme (which was a perfect way to remind the couples to continue their commitment to one another), and set up the Fellowship Hall to give the ambience of a wedding ceremony/reception.  The tables were the 'pews' and there was even an aisle runner with flower petals!  (Also: Throughout the evening we had a PPT slideshow playing with all of the couples' wedding pictures and wedding date!  It was so much fun to look at!!)

Alyssa played wedding music throughout the evening.

Trend

A while ago, I was reading some of my past posts and I noticed a trend.  I would promise to post pictures of something, and never do it.  So, the next few posts you'll be seeing will be pictures that you never got to see. :-)

Here's the line up...

Sweetheart Banquet 2009
Pictures of my room
Amy's Wedding
Skirt Picture - I never promised this one, but Jackie requested a pic of it.
Sweetheart Banquet 2010 - Once again, never promised...but I thought you'd like to see them anyways.

While I'm at it...are there any requests?  Am I missing anything? Is there something I've talked about you want to see pictures of?

Project: Bathroom!

The Fellowship Hall bathrooms at church have been in dire need of an update. So, some of us ladies took on the task. Maggie, Alyssa & I did the women's and it turned out very nicely...if I do say so myself!

This & That

I've been considering writing a post for almost a week now, but I've just kept putting it off. I'll put it off no longer...here's a post for all of you who have come to my blog in the past couple of weeks hoping for something new only to be disappointed.  At least I hope there someone out there who's been wanting to see something new. ;o)

Ok...where to start.  Ummm...

My life for the past few weeks has been c-r-a-z-y!  There was literally a two week period where I had something going on every.single.evening.  It's nice to have stuff going on, but it can get tiring.

We've been pretty busy getting things ready around here to put the house up for sale.  Cleaning ... packing ... cleaning ... purging ... It's a lot of work to move!  It's slowly but surely getting done.

If you've read Carolyn or Maggie's blog you'll know that we went to a City Council Meeting last Tuesday.  There's a lady in our town that wants to open up an "Adult Entertainment" establishment.  We went to the meeting not only to see what exactly was going on, but also to excercise our rights and speak out against such an establishment coming into our town.  Unfortunately, you can't legally ban such a place...but you can put strict requirements on it.  So, hopefully it won't last if it does come or even better, she won't even open it up.  Maybe after the meeting she was discouraged by all of the opposition against it. (There were almost 30 people that spoke against it, with only 1 for it...you  can guess who that 1 was...yep! it was her!!)  Anyways, that's the hot news in our town right now. :)  FYI...my dad is now a celebrity...he made it on the news! LOL Go here to see it...he's the one that gives the analogy about a fruit bowl.

This week is Spring Break.  Unfortunately, I don't get the week off...but I do get much needed time in the office.  In just the past couple of days, I've been able to get quite a bit of 'extra stuff' accomplished that I don't normally have the time to do...yay!!

This weekend we're heading across the mountains once again!  I don't think we'll be looking at any houses this time, but we are going to have a Resurrection Sunday service!  I'm looking forward to it, although it'll be a bit strange because it'll be our first Easter apart from Josh since he isn't able to go with us. :o(

I hope you have a great Easter!  Enjoy your weekend, eat some candy, but most of all...reflect on the fact that Christ is ALIVE!! He's not still in some tomb, but He's risen!!  We serve a risen Saviour! Praise the Lord!
